News Topical, Digital Desk : Lucknow News: Samajwadi Party national president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has launched a major attack on the Yogi government over the law and order situation in the state. He said that crime has gone out of control in Uttar Pradesh and the BJP government's claim of "zero tolerance" has proved to be completely "zero".
Akhilesh Yadav issued a statement on Wednesday saying that the incidents of crime against women are increasing rapidly in the state. He claimed that Uttar Pradesh has reached the first position in the country in terms of crimes against women, which is a proof of the failure of the BJP government.
Referring to some recent incidents, he said that incidents like gangrape of a teenager in Moradabad, attempt to rape a nurse in Meerut, murder of an elderly woman in Farrukhabad, and murder of a man in Chaubepur area of Kanpur present a grim picture of increasing crime in the state. Akhilesh said, these are just a few examples. Dozens of such cases are coming to light every day, due to which the general public is scared.
Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the BJP government is only making false promises and hollow assurances to the people, while on the ground there is neither rule of law nor are the victims getting justice. He said that injustice and atrocities are being done to the poor and the innocent and the maximum number of deaths in police custody are happening under the BJP government.
He said that the police system of the state is working under complete political pressure, due to which the general public is losing faith in both the government and the police. Akhilesh said that the BJP government has failed on every front. Only propaganda and false figures are being presented in the name of development. He alleged that the identity of the BJP government has now become "lies, loot and corruption".
Change is certain in 2027- Akhilesh Yadav
Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that the public has now understood the truth of the BJP and has resolved to remove this government from power in the 2027 assembly elections. He claimed that the Samajwadi Party is fighting the battle of public interest strongly and will always struggle to protect the rights of the people. It is worth noting that in recent times, reports of murder, robbery, rape and harassment of women have come from various districts of Uttar Pradesh. However, the state government has been continuously claiming to take strict steps to control crime, but the opposition is rejecting these claims outright.
