News Topical, Digital Desk : A woman's complaint, intelligence, and the MBBS status of an IPS officer were instrumental in exposing the kidney scandal. During the raid at Ahuja Hospital, the management informed the police and medical team that the woman who received the kidney had undergone a gall bladder operation.

Satisfied with this information, the medical team began to return, but IPS officer Sumedh Jadhav, who arrived to investigate, discovered that the incision made during the operation didn't even have a gall bladder. Such an incision is typically made during kidney transplants. This suspicion unraveled the kidney scandal.

In fact, some people reported illegal activities taking place in Kalyanpur hospitals to the Police Commissioner in December 2025. The investigation yielded nothing concrete. Two months later, in February, a woman called Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal and informed him that she lived near Aarohi Hospital. She often saw a commotion inside the hospital on Saturday and Sunday nights, and sometimes even heard screams.

Intelligence surveillance here exposed the illegal kidney buying and selling and transplants on March 30. The Police Commissioner stated that upon a woman's complaint, CMO Haridutt Nemi investigated Aarohi Hospital and discovered that the hospital was not registered. However, it was learned that Aarohi's operator, Rajesh, had opened MedLife Hospital in Keshavpuram in collaboration with Ramprakash.

Both their mobile phones were put on surveillance. Then, Ahuja Hospital came up, but it was run by Dr. Surjeet Ahuja, husband of Preeti Ahuja, vice president of the IMA Kanpur branch. Therefore, the police remained vigilant. On March 29th, a hospital employee provided a tip-off that two kidney transplants were scheduled for that day.

When the police arrived, Parul from Muzaffarnagar had already completed her operation. The gang sensed the police presence, so they hurried to leave. Gang members were seen walking past the police at the hospital gate, but they lacked evidence, so nothing could be done. The health department was asked for help with the raid.

When ACMO Dr. Ramit Rastogi Ahuja reached the hospital, the police entered inside. The person to whom the kidney was transplanted was told to be named Parul and she was unconscious in the ICU. During interrogation, it was said that it was a gall bladder operation. The health department team now washed their hands off the matter. Everyone started returning but trainee IPS Sumedh Jadhav said that he would see the patient and then after looking at the incision, he revealed the secret of the transplant. Now the proof was in front. Dr. Surjeet Singh Ahuja, his wife Dr. Preeti Ahuja and broker Shivam Agarwal, who were present at the spot, were arrested.
