News Topical, Digital Desk : Mudassar Ali Siddiqui alias Doctor Ali, a key figure in the kidney scandal, surrendered in court on Thursday after a day-long drama.

Dainik Jagran correspondent had an exclusive conversation with Ali, who had a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head and reached the court after fooling the police.

In it, he dismissed the claim that he was the one conducting the operations as false. Ali stated that Rohit, the gang leader, was the one who carried out the operations, and that he was merely an accomplice.

Parul, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, underwent a kidney transplant at Ahuja Hospital in Keshavpuram on the night of March 29th. Ayush, a resident of Begusarai, Bihar, had sold her kidney. The police uncovered the case on March 30th.

In this case, hospital operator Dr. Preeti Ahuja, her husband Dr. Surjeet Ahuja, Aarohi Hospital operator Rajesh, Medlife operator Ramprakash, Priya Hospital operator Narendra Singh, and broker Shivam Agarwal were arrested and sent to jail. Later, Rohit, a Ghaziabad resident who claimed to be a doctor, was also arrested.

As of Thursday, 10 arrests had been made in this case, and eight accused remained at large. Among them is Mudassar Ali, alias Doctor Ali, who is accused of performing surgeries despite being an OT operator.

Ali surrendered in court

Ali surrendered in the court of ACJM-6 on Thursday. The police had not filed a report with the court before the surrender.

Advocate Mohit Dwivedi, who facilitated Ali's surrender, said the police wanted to stop the surrender process, but in the face of the court's strict stance, the police filed a wanted report in the afternoon, after which the court sent Ali to jail in judicial custody for 14 days.

"Rohit, the gang leader, used to run the operation, I was just an associate."

Mudassar Ali spoke at length with Dainik Jagran's reporter. When asked how he was able to perform kidney transplants despite being an OT technician, Ali, a resident of Plot No. 137, 2nd Floor, Street No. 6, Vishwas Park, Uttam Nagar, West Delhi, denied the claims.

He said that his job was to assist Dr. Rohit in the OT. Rohit performed the surgeries. He did not know that Rohit was a quack. He also revealed that Rohit was the one who recruited him into the kidney racket. He met Rohit in Meerut and, lured by greed, joined the gang.

40 thousand rupees were received for one operation

He said he was paid only 40,000 rupees per operation. He assisted in five or six operations in about a year. Who administered anesthesia to the patient and the kidney donor during the operation?

He then explained that Rohit also administered anesthesia injections, and sometimes Rajesh and Kuldeep. Rajesh, a resident of Ghaziabad, was the OT manager, while Kuldeep, a resident of Hapur, was the OT in-charge. However, he was only associated with Rohit and did not know much about the others.
