2. "I went to look for bad things, but I did not find anyone bad.
Whoever searched my heart, there was no one worse than me."
Meaning - In this couplet , Kabir says that when we go out to find evil in others, we do not find anyone bad. But when we look inside ourselves, we find that there is no one worse than us. This inspires us to accept our shortcomings and improve them.
3. "Don't ask the caste of a saint, ask his knowledge.
Buy the sword and leave the sheath lying there."
Meaning - This means that a person should be judged not by his caste or outward appearance, but by his knowledge and qualities. Just as a sword is valued by its edge and not by its sheath, similarly a sadhu or any person should be judged by his knowledge and character.
4. “Slowly, everything happens slowly.
The gardener waters the plant a hundred times; when the season comes the fruits appear."
Meaning - In this couplet, Kabir says that let the mind do everything slowly, because there is a right time for every work. Just like no matter how much water the gardener pours, the fruits appear only when the season comes. That is, we should not hurry for the result and should perform our duties patiently.
