News Topical, Digital Desk : Supreme Court Chief Justice (CJI) B.R. Gavai is retiring today. On Monday, Justice Surya Kant will be sworn in as the country's 53rd CJI. Chief Justices and Supreme Court judges from seven countries, including Bhutan, Mauritius, and Brazil, will attend the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Justice Surya Kant's swearing-in ceremony is set to be historic, as it is the first time that such a large number of judicial delegations from other countries will be present at the swearing-in of a CJI.
Justice Surya Kant will be sworn in as the next Chief Justice of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, November 24. The swearing-in ceremony will be attended by the Chief Justices of Bhutan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, along with their accompanying family members.
According to a report by the outlet Bar & Bench, more than a dozen judges and chief justices from six countries, from Bhutan to Sri Lanka, will be present at the swearing-in ceremony on Monday. Justice Surya Kant will be sworn in at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, November 24.
