
News Topical, Digital Desk : Jammu and Kashmir News: A cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Many important decisions were taken in this meeting. The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has sought legal advice from the Law Department before taking a final decision on the report of the Cabinet Sub-Committee (CSC) on reservation policy. A cabinet meeting was called at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar, in which the report was discussed, but it has not been approved yet. After thorough discussion, the bill was sent to the Law Department.
A senior minister in the Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet said that the government has not taken a final decision on the recommendations of the report. The report of the Cabinet Sub-Committee (CSC), which has been much discussed at the political and public level in recent weeks, was neither approved.
There is no specific time limit for returning the report.
The cabinet minister said, "The cabinet had a detailed discussion on the CSC report regarding the reservation policy. After the discussion, it was decided to send the report to the law department for legal opinion." He also clarified that no specific timeline has been set for returning the report.
He said, "The report will be brought back to the cabinet for a final decision only after the legal scrutiny is complete." Apart from the reservation issue, the cabinet also reviewed the current tourism scenario in the valley. Sources said the meeting discussed measures to revive the tourism sector, which has seen a decline in the number of tourists after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam .
In this cabinet meeting, preparations, logistics and healthcare arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra were also discussed. Let us tell you that this year the annual pilgrimage is going to start from July 3.
