News Topical, Digital Desk : The POCSO court has convicted the accused of kidnapping a minor girl from Jalore, Rajasthan, taking her to Maharashtra and raping her in a closed room for four days and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine. While delivering the verdict on Friday ( October 31 ), Special Judge Pramod Kumar Malik declared the accused Mukesh Kumar, son of Dadmaram, resident of Bagoda, guilty. Special Public Prosecutor Ranjeet Singh Rajpurohit argued in the court.

The case dates back to January 30, 2025, when the victim's father filed a report at the Jhaab police station. The report stated that his minor daughter had gone to the fields around 3 pm on January 28 but had not returned home until late in the evening. The family searched her maternal home and surrounding areas but found no trace. Finding clothes near the fields led to suspicions that someone had lured her away. Investigation revealed that 22-year-old Mukesh Kumar, son of Dadmaram, a resident of the Bagoda police station area, had taken the minor to Maharashtra.

Medical report confirms rape

Based on mobile location and technical investigation, police recovered the accused and the victim from a locked room in Shanti Nagar Colony, Loni City, Ahilyanagar district, Maharashtra, on March 5, 2025. The victim's statement and medical report confirmed the rape . The accused confessed to the crime during interrogation and was subsequently sent to jail.

The victim's family expressed satisfaction over getting justice.

Given the gravity of the case, the police filed a charge sheet in court under the POCSO Act and other sections. During the trial, the prosecution presented all the evidence and witnesses, which the court considered convincing and convicted the accused. The court sentenced the accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine. The victim's family expressed satisfaction with the justice they received, while the prosecution called the verdict a strong message against crimes against minors.
