News Topical, Digital Desk : The Israeli military said its troops killed at least two senior members of the Palestinian Mujahideen movement in attacks in Gaza City. The Israeli force said the two included a commander who was accused of involvement in a deadly attack on Israel on October 7.

The IDF and the Shin Bet security agency said in a joint statement that As'ad Abu Shariah, the head of the Mujahideen Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Mujahideen movement, was killed in a joint operation.

He was accused of killing a 9 month old child

Israel accused Abu Shariah of playing a "key role" in the 2023 Hamas-led attack and being “directly involved in the abduction, detention and killing of Israeli hostages.”

According to the IDF, Abu Shariah killed the family and children of Israel's youngest hostage, Kfir Bibas, who was 9 months old.

In a separate attack, another terrorist named Mahmood Muhammad Hamid Kuhail was also killed. He is also believed to be involved in the October 2023 attack in Israel.

Dead body of a Thai citizen found, he was kidnapped by Hamas

There was no immediate comment on the deaths from Palestinian militant groups, reports Xinhua news agency. The IDF and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) said on Saturday that they had found the body of 36-year-old Thai national Nattapong Pinta, who was kidnapped by the Mujahideen Brigade during the October 7, 2023 attack.

Pinta's body was recovered during a joint operation in Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday. Meanwhile, Hamas' armed wing, Al-Qassim Brigade, claimed that the Israeli army was laying siege to a place in Gaza. It is at this place that Hamas has held an Israeli citizen hostage. Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida named the hostage as Matan Zangaukar. Abu Obeida threatened that "the enemy will not be able to save him (Matan) alive."

Israel has not publicly responded to the claim, although Israeli media have reported that ongoing military operations are being conducted with caution to avoid harm to the remaining hostages.
