News Topical, Digital Desk : Since the announcement of the SIR in Bengal, a large number of infiltrators have been attempting to cross the border and return to Bangladesh every day. Consequently, the influx of infiltrators is increasing in various border areas of Bengal bordering Bangladesh.

This especially includes the Swarupnagar and Hakimpur borders of North 24 Parganas district, through which most attempts are being made to cross the border.

Meanwhile, at the Hakimpur border, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) workers and supporters staged a massive protest on Thursday demanding the immediate departure of infiltrators, leading to clashes with local residents. Tensions erupted. The VHP activists demanded that the infiltrators leave the country immediately.

Meanwhile, local residents took to the streets to protest, accusing the VHP of trying to disrupt the peaceful area at the behest of the BJP.

Initially, an argument broke out between the two sides, which escalated into a physical altercation. Local residents are also accused of assaulting and harassing some media personnel who were gathering news. Following the incident, a large police force arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
