News Topical, Digital Desk : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) continues its crackdown on coal mafias in Jharkhand and West Bengal. The Enforcement Directorate has conducted simultaneous raids at more than 40 locations against the coal mafia.
According to officials, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting searches at 24 premises in Durgapur, Purulia, Howrah and Kolkata districts of West Bengal in connection with the illegal coal mining, illegal transportation and storage case.
According to preliminary information, the ED has been conducting raids at the premises of Narendra Kharka, Anil Goyal, Yudhishthir Ghosh, Krishna Murari Kayal, and others since Friday morning. Large amounts of cash and jewelry have been recovered during the raids in Bengal.
ED raids 18 places in Jharkhand
Enforcement Directorate officials are conducting searches at 18 locations in Jharkhand. According to news agency ANI, these raids are linked to several major coal theft and smuggling cases, including those involving Anil Goyal, Sanjay Udyog, LB Singh, and Amar Mandal.
All these cases taken together involve massive theft and pilferage of coal, causing huge financial losses running into hundreds of crores to the government.
