When is Indira Ekadashi celebrated?
Every year Indira Ekadashi is celebrated on the next day of Dashami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. By observing this fast, all the sins committed by a person knowingly or unknowingly are destroyed. Also, the devotee gets a place in the higher world after death. By performing Shraddha, Tarpan and Pinddaan on this day, ancestors attain salvation.
Indira Ekadashi Shubh Muhurat
According to the Vedic calendar, the Ekadashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month will begin on September 17 (according to the English calendar, i.e. on the night of September 16) at 12:21 am. At the same time, Ekadashi Tithi will end on September 17 at 11:39 pm. In Sanatan Dharma, the date is calculated from sunrise. For this, Indira Ekadashi will be celebrated on September 17.
