Now, the Navy's strength is set to receive another major boost. According to reports, the Indian Navy may soon receive six P-8I aircraft. It should be noted that the Indian Navy already has 12 P-8I surveillance aircraft, and this number will increase further in the coming days.

The cost will be Rs 27,000 crore.

According to reports, the six new P-8I aircraft to be acquired by the Indian Navy are estimated to cost ₹27,000 crore. This deal is currently pending Cabinet Committee on Security clearance. The issue of this aircraft was discussed very seriously during the Indian Navy's recent visit to the United States. There is also a possibility that drones like the MQ9 may also arrive in India in the future.

Features of P-8I aircraft

The P-8I Poseidon aircraft is manufactured by the US-based Boeing Company. This surveillance aircraft has long been an integral part of the Indian Navy. The P-8I is a modern, long-range, multi-mission maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft. It is equipped with a powerful multi-mission surface search radar. The aircraft is also equipped with a wide range of weapons that can effectively defeat enemies. These aircraft provide the Indian Navy with significant strength against adversaries at sea.
