News Topical, Digital Desk : Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has launched a scathing attack on NCP chief and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. In a statement on September 14, Sanjay called Ajit Pawar a "stupid leader" and "half Pakistani".
This statement came on Ajit Pawar's comment on the India-Pakistan cricket match, in which he (Ajit Pawar) said that the match should be seen from the perspective of sports. Raut said that such thinking does not show patriotism and ignores the wounds of the victims of terrorism.
Sanjay Raut said, "If Ajit Pawar says this, it means that he has Pakistani blood in him. This language cannot be that of a patriotic citizen. If any member of his family was among the 26 victims of the Pahalgam (terror) attack, he would not have given such a statement." Raut claimed that Pakistan promotes terrorism and that is why the India-Pakistan cricket match should be boycotted.
What was Ajit Pawar's statement?
Ajit Pawar told the media on September 13 that the decision on the India-Pakistan match has been taken at the appropriate forum. He admitted that it is natural to have different opinions among the country's 140 crore population. Some people believe that the match should not happen due to strained relations, while some people advocate looking at it as a game. According to Pawar, it is important to look at this issue with a sporting spirit, keeping aside emotional politics.
Shivsena-AAP's performance and political impact
Before the Asia Cup cricket match, Shiv Sena (UBT) protested against Pakistan in many parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Jammu. According to PTI, party workers called Pakistan a terrorist sponsoring country and demanded boycott of the match. In Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party workers also protested on the same issue. Amidst these protests, Sanjay Raut's sharp statement has further heated up the political atmosphere.
