News Topical, Digital Desk : Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has made a serious accusation against Afghanistan of waging a proxy war for India. He said that India is targeting Pakistan through the Taliban.
In a TV interview with Geo News, Khawaja Asif said, "Right now, Kabul is fighting a proxy war for Delhi." He also cast doubt on the recently announced 48-hour temporary ceasefire and warned that Pakistan was prepared to respond militarily if provoked.
Pakistan's Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday that a temporary ceasefire has been implemented for the next 48 hours with the consent of both sides. The decision was taken after intense firing along the border in recent days. The ceasefire took effect at 1:00 am on Wednesday.
'Delhi is sponsoring the Taliban'
Khawaja Asif expressed doubts about the sustainability of the ceasefire, saying, "I doubt whether this ceasefire will last, because the Taliban is being sponsored by Delhi."
He warned that Pakistan was prepared to take military action if Afghanistan escalated tensions or escalated the war, but he also kept open the possibility of constructive dialogue.
There has been a recent escalation in violence between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistani airstrikes have reportedly targeted Kandahar and Kabul. Both sides have claimed credit for the ceasefire initiative.
