Meanwhile, in Sasaram, taking bribe from another ASI proved costly for a police sub-inspector (ASI) and the surveillance team arrested him red-handed while taking bribe.
ASI posted in GRP arrested
Actually, this entire matter is of Sasaram GRP. It was told that ASI Basanti Kumari posted in Liquor Prohibition Office, Patna, complained to the Vigilance Investigation Bureau on May 13. She told that ASI Vijay Kumar Singh posted in Sasaram GRP is demanding bribe from my husband Ranjit Kumar alias Karan Yadav in lieu of granting bail in Railway Police Station Sasaram. A case has been registered against him under case number 10/25.
After verification of the complaint through the Vigilance Investigation Bureau, the case was found to be true. After prima facie finding of the allegations true, an FIR was registered in the case and a team was formed under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police Kiran Paswan. On Wednesday, the accused ASI Vijay Kumar Singh was arrested red-handed from his government residence, Sasaram while taking a bribe of five thousand rupees.
Continuous surveillance action is being taken in Bihar
The bureau said that the accused is being questioned. It is noteworthy that the Bihar Vigilance Investigation Bureau had achieved two successes on Monday. A team of the bureau arrested Lalganj Block Development Officer (BDO) Neelam Kumari of Vaishali district and her driver Avinash Kumar red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000, while Girish Tiwari, a revenue employee of Lakdi Naviganj in Siwan district, was caught by the vigilance team while taking a bribe of Rs 35,000.
