News Topical, Digital Desk : On Sunday (November 9th), a major crackdown was carried out in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on the orders of the Director General of Police. Police removed illegal loudspeakers from temples and mosques. This action was taken to reduce the volume of loudspeakers in religious and public places. This action was taken to prevent noise pollution and enforce compliance with prescribed limits.
On the instructions of the Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police, a campaign was launched to remove loudspeakers with excessive sound from all religious sites and public places in Lucknow. This campaign will be carried out by the police administration for several days.
What did the local people say about this action?
Locals in Lucknow have reacted to this crackdown on loudspeakers. Syed Mohammad Haider, a resident of the area, said that the police, administration, and media have arrived. The government has issued a law requiring that loud loudspeakers be removed from temples and mosques.
He further stated that the police have stated that this action is being taken to ensure that no one is inconvenienced by the five-time Azaan (call to prayer) in mosques. Haider further stated that he has no objection to this. He added that the police administration is removing the loudspeakers, so there's no problem.
Haider further stated that this action should not be directed against any one party or any one religion, and that equal action should be taken at all religious sites. He added that this move by the administration does not cause any problems to people of any religion.
Administration action in many districts of the state
Following the DGP's orders, this action is being taken across the state. Loudspeakers with excessive sound are being removed in every district with immediate effect. In Muzaffarnagar district, 15 loudspeakers were removed. Nine of these were removed from the Civil Lines police station area and six from the Kotwali area.
Additionally, the administration launched a loudspeaker drive in Bareilly. Illegal loudspeakers were removed from several key locations in the city. Currently, this campaign is being carried out at a rapid pace by the administration across the state.
