News Topical, Digital Desk : The IIT Self Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exam Centre (SATHI) will now also be operated from Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Through this, students will be prepared for competitive exams like JEE, Banking, SSC, etc. Two centers are already operating in Uttarakhand and one each in Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Delhi.
The IIT operates the Saathi portal to nurture the talents of promising students from economically disadvantaged or rural areas. Approximately 16.75 lakh students from across the country are registered on this portal.
IIT partner centres are being opened in areas where there is lack of internet or computer facilities, with the aim of benefiting the students.
According to Professor Amey Karkare, in charge of the Saathi project, 40 students will be able to sit together at a single center and study through audio-video. Additionally, the ability to study through the Saathi online portal and mobile app will continue as before.
