News Topical, Digital Desk : Indian Energy Exchange Limited (IEX) has released the power market update for April 2025 after the market closed on Monday. The company said that the company's traded electricity volume in April has increased by 26 percent to 10,584 MU. According to government data published in April 2025, the country's energy consumption reached 147.5 BU, an increase of 2.2 percent over the previous year. The Day-Ahead Market (DAM) achieved 4,231 MU volume in April 2025, while it was 4,116 MU volume in April 2024, an increase of 3 percent over last year.

RTM volume rises to 3,893MU

The company said that the real-time electricity market (RTM) volume increased to 3,893MU in April 2025 from 2,629 MU in April 2024, an increase of 48 per cent over the same period last year. The day ahead contingency and term-ahead market (TAM), which includes contingency, daily and weekly and monthly contracts up to 3 months, traded 1,639 MU in April 2025 as against 1,276 MU volume in April 2024, an increase of 28% year-on-year. 

Stock performance On Monday, the stock of the company closed at Rs 195 with a gain of 2.26 per cent. In the last one year, the stock of the company has seen a gain of 27.49 per cent.
