Imran married his long time girlfriend Avantika Malik in the year 2011. After three years of marriage, the couple welcomed a daughter in the year 2014. However, this relationship did not last long and both got divorced in the year 2019.

Now in an interview given to a YouTube channel, Avantika told what was her condition at the time of divorce. In an interview given to Janice Sequiera, Avantika said that she felt she would 'die' if her marriage broke up.

During the conversation, Avantika said, “It is just two people getting separated, it is not the worst thing in the world. I used to think that if my marriage broke up, I would die. I used to think that I would not be able to live even a day without this man. Because of my fear and lack of complete faith in myself, I was sure that I would die. The day we decided that this is it, I remember I was crying as if someone in my family had died.
I was not earning - Avantika
She further added, 'For me, I was like that's it. I'm dead. There's no way I can move forward, I can live my life. I was scared because I wasn't even earning at that time. I knew I came from a very good family and I was never going to end up on the streets.'
Avantika told that first she and Imran Khan decided to live separately. Only after this they were able to get divorced. The actress said that divorce is not a bad thing, her parents have also got divorced. So there was nothing about which she was feeling uncomfortable.
