News Topical, Digital Desk : Rukmini Vasanth appeared in the film Kantara Chapter 1 last year alongside Rishabh Shetty. The movie was a box office success, and Rukmini's villainous role was widely praised. Rukmini played Queen Kanakavati in the film.

The actress is new to acting, and choosing a negative role after only five years of her acting career was a big decision for her. While she is receiving praise for her role, she admits that playing Kanakavati was quite challenging.

Speaking about this, Rukmini said, “It was a very difficult decision at the time. Getting an offer for a film like Kaantara was exciting in itself. Rishabh Shetty sir called me about it, and I was overjoyed. Then, when he said you're playing the villain, I got a little nervous.”

The actress spoke about the preconceived notions in the industry, saying, "There are always certain stereotypes around you. It's not like anyone intentionally tells you not to do these kinds of roles or 'only do these kinds of roles'... but you hear that you should always do a certain kind of role. So, I felt a little stressed."

Rukmini Vasanth will next be seen in Toxic alongside Yash. The teaser release has already created a buzz. The film is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, and will clash with Dhurandhar 2.
