News Topical, Digital Desk : US Vice President JD Vance said Wednesday that he hopes his wife, Usha Vance, will one day convert to Christianity after being inspired by the Catholic Church. He added that his wife will now attend church with him on Sundays.
The Vice President said, “Usha will now come to discussions with me most Sundays. As I have told her, and I have said in front of everyone, and I will now say in front of 10,000 close friends, she will be influenced by the same things that influenced me in church. Do I hope so? Yes, I really do because I believe in the Christian Gospel, and I hope that eventually my wife will see it that way too.”
'If she doesn't do it, there's no problem.'
He also made it clear that his wife's faith isn't a problem for him. "If she doesn't do it, God says everyone has the freedom to do what they want, and so I wouldn't have a problem with that. That's something you deal with with your friends, your family, or the person you love," Vance said.
Raising children according to Christianity
The Republican leader converted to Catholicism in 2019 and has said he considered himself agnostic or atheist when he met his wife. However, their children were raised Christian and attend Christian schools.
"I make no apologies for thinking that Christian values are an important foundation of this country," he said, responding to a question about the separation of church and state.
