
News Topical, Digital Desk : If the Prime Minister, Chief Minister or any minister is accused in a case with a provision of punishment of more than 5 years and if he remains in judicial custody for thirty days, then he will have to resign. This bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha by Home Minister Amit Shah.
After the bill was introduced, the opposition created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha. Opposing it, Congress, SP and TMC have called it a step against the Constitution. Asaduddin Owaisi also opposed it.
Home Minister Amit Shah gave his own example
Amidst the opposition's protest, Amit Shah gave his own example and said that it is important to maintain purity in politics and we should not run away from our responsibility.
Amit Shah said, "When I was a minister in Gujarat, allegations were leveled against me. I resigned from the post and followed the court orders. After this, I took up the responsibility again when I was acquitted of the allegations and got the right to hold the post under the Constitution.
