Speaking to Radio Nasha, Bobby explained that he always wanted his children to focus on their studies, but their interests turned out to be completely different.
Bobby was unaware of his son's college.
Bobby said, “My younger son dropped out after 12th grade, but my older son went to college. He got admission in every college he applied to. He got admission in NYU Stern School of Business. I didn't know about that college, but when I told people that my son studied there, they would say, 'Wow, that's an amazing college.' I was like, 'Okay.' I didn't know that.”
Will both sons be seen in films?
Bobby explained that his eldest son is getting a lot of attention from the industry and has many offers, but we're in no rush. He's working on himself and training. I don't want to throw him into the ocean without knowing how to swim. Bobby said that both of his sons have shown interest in films, but he wants them to be fully prepared for the pressures of being star kids.

He also mentioned Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, who recently ventured into direction. Bobby said, “I know how difficult it is to be the son of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, despite being from the industry. What kind of pressure is on him. If he's trying to do something as challenging as directing, I have to be there for him.”

Bobby Deol will next be seen in Anurag Kashyap's Bandar, Alia Bhatt's Alpha, and the Tamil film Jana Nayagan. His film Bandar (Monkey in a Cage) was screened as a special presentation at the 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Produced by Nikhil Dwivedi and directed by Anurag Kashyap, Bandar also stars Saba Azad, Sanya Malhotra, and Sapna Pabbi.
