Shimla: During this time, life in Himachal has been badly disrupted due to cloudburst and flood. While the death toll in this incident was 18 on Wednesday, now (Thursday) this number has increased to 22. 30 people are still missing in this disaster, search operation is going on for them.
Mandi-Kullu highway affected
At the same time, the road from Mandi to Kullu National Highway-21 has been closed near mile. Due to this, common travellers are facing a lot of problems.
Tourists are also facing difficulties due to landslides. JCB machines are engaged to remove debris from the road, as the road is slippery. Therefore, the roads are being cleared while driving vehicles carefully.
22 people have died so far
Three districts Kullu, Manali and Shimla are badly affected by the disaster. But village Samej under Rampur in Shimla has suffered the most from the disaster.
So far 10 bodies have been recovered from Samej and Dhadkol and Sunni dam. 22 bodies have been recovered so far since the cloudburst incident on August 1. Out of these, four bodies were recovered in Shimla and two in Kullu.
Out of the total 22 bodies, six bodies were recovered on Wednesday. Four of these bodies were recovered in Shimla and two in Kullu, out of which 12 bodies have been identified so far. The police is taking DNA samples to identify the bodies which have not been identified.
More than 100 roads are closed
During this time more than 100 roads are closed in the state. According to the information, a total of 109 roads are closed including 37 in Mandi, 29 in Shimla, 26 in Kullu, six in Kangra, four each in Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti, two in Sirmaur and one in Hamirpur. At the same time, the difficulties have not reduced for the coming days. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for eight districts till August 13.
