Participating in the 'Shahar se Samvad' program with Municipal Corporation Mayors and Municipal Council Presidents on Tuesday evening, the Chief Minister said that local women and men will be trained to set up 10 high-tech hair salons or parlors in each Municipal Corporation, five in Municipal Council and three in Nagar Panchayat in the state.
The Chief Minister also launched three web portals prepared by the state's Urban Development Department to help women self-help groups. He also announced to digitize the offices of municipal bodies, build silver jubilee parks in them and create vending zones in municipal bodies. In this program, Dhami advised the public representatives of the municipal body to not see their role as just a 'post' but consider it a mission of public service.
He said, "Everyone has to ensure that the benefits of the schemes and works being run by our 'triple engine' government reach the person standing at the last end of the society. All of you should develop your respective body office not only as an administrative unit but also as a 'service center' where every citizen should come with full confidence without any hesitation."
Dhami said that all of you should make transparency, accountability and honesty the basic mantra of your working style and regularly monitor especially those works in which there is a high possibility of corruption because your vigilance at the administrative level can become the biggest guarantee of good governance. The Chief Minister heard and also noted the problems of various local public representatives including the Mayors of Municipal Corporations and the Presidents of Municipal Councils.
