News Topical, Digital Desk : The Anti Auto Theft Squad of Delhi Police has solved a high profile criminal case and arrested a vicious young man possessing illegal weapons.

The accused was seen openly firing a pistol in a video on social media. With this video of just a few seconds, the police achieved great success and has started preparations to crack down on the entire network.

Police started investigation from viral video on social media

According to Delhi Police, a few days ago a video went viral on social media in which a young man was seen firing a pistol in a public place. The quality of the video was very poor and the accused's face was visible only for a few moments, despite this Delhi Police continued to investigate. The Delhi Police team did a thorough technical investigation of the video, the graphics were also examined. The location was traced and finally the accused was identified.

Delhi Police took action as per strategy 

Delhi Police conducted a secret operation in Kardampuri area on July 12 at noon. However, the pre-deployed police team acted on time and arrested the accused. The arrested accused was identified as Salman alias Sallu.

When the police searched the accused, a pistol and 8 live cartridges were recovered from him. During preliminary interrogation, the accused accepted that the video of the firing was his and said that he wanted to show his style to make the video viral.

The accused revealed this during police interrogation

During interrogation by Delhi Police after his arrest, accused Salman not only confessed to having illegal weapons but also told the police from where he had bought the pistol and cartridges. The police is now trying to reach the supplier from whom he got these weapons.

In this case, a case has been registered in Jyoti Nagar police station under section 25 of the Arms Act and further investigation has been expedited considering the seriousness of the case.

Delhi Police is investigating the matter 

According to Delhi Police, the accused Salman may be associated with an illegal arms gang which is active in Delhi-NCR. Investigation so far has revealed that the accused was trying to portray himself as a gangster on social media and wanted to influence the youth.
