News Topical, Digital Desk : A huge commotion broke out during a wedding ceremony late Friday night at a guest house near the railway station on the Hathras-Mathura Road in the town of Mursan. People in the wedding party, finding fault with the food, assaulted the cooks.
It is alleged that the attackers threw a brick into a cauldron of boiling oil, causing burns and serious injuries to several confectioners and bystanders. A wedding ceremony was being held at the guest house in the village of Timarli.
Some youths provoked people by finding faults in the food.
Halwai Bhura, a resident of Nagla Sheesham, said that after preparing food for the wedding party and the villagers, preparations were underway to serve it. Meanwhile, some young men from the village arrived and began provoking the people by pointing out flaws in the food. When the Halwais tried to discuss the food, some unknown young men from Timarli and members of the wedding party began assaulting them.

During the scuffle, some members of the wedding party threw a brick into the cauldron of boiling oil being used by the cook. Several people standing nearby were scalded by the boiling oil. The brawl at the wedding ceremony caused a stampede in the guest house. Some drunken youths even started throwing chairs.
These were injured
Several people, including confectioners Bhura, Santosh, and Vishnu, were seriously injured in the incident. Mursan police arrived at the scene upon receiving information, but by then the accused youths had fled. The injured were sent to Mursan CHC for treatment. One youth was in critical condition and was referred to the district hospital. The confectioners have accused the wedding party members of throwing boiling oil on them. The police have launched an investigation based on the victim's complaint.
