News Topical, Digital Desk : Haryana Police launched a massive operation to strengthen law and order, raiding 707 identified "hotspots" (crime-prone areas) across the state. More than 160 suspects were arrested in a single day during the operation, according to a police statement on Friday (December 5).
According to the statement, the police launched a special operation on Monday called "Operation Hotspot Domination." Under this operation, various police teams conducted simultaneous raids in these areas across the state on Thursday. The statement said that due to the swift and coordinated police action, a total of 92 new criminal cases were registered and 165 accused involved in various crimes were arrested within just one day.
A large quantity of drugs was recovered
In this special operation, police targeted drug trafficking networks. A large quantity of drugs was seized during the raids. Police seized a total of 4.33 kilograms of marijuana, 218 grams of opium, and over 85 grams of heroin from various districts. In addition, 890 narcotic pills and 23.5 grams of smack were also recovered from the drug traffickers.
According to the statement, drug networks were disrupted through operations conducted in districts like Sirsa and Fatehabad. "Police teams seized over 1,000 bottles of illicit liquor across the state, including 839 bottles of country liquor and other illicit liquor," the statement said. The police also began targeting properties acquired through crime, the statement said.
Three illegal encroachments were demolished.
In Fatehabad, authorities confiscated the illegally acquired property of a notorious criminal. Three illegal encroachments by known criminals were demolished in Hansi town of Hisar. The statement said this action was taken to cut off the criminals' financial sources and send a message that criminally acquired assets will not be safe.
During the operation, police also recovered three pistols and five cartridges from the criminals. Five new cases were registered under the Arms Act, and five accused were arrested. Using an active intelligence network, police were successful in arresting 22 notorious criminals.
59,14,533 rupees frozen
Additionally, a Lookout Circular (LOC) was issued in Fatehabad and a proposal was sent to revoke the passport of a violent criminal to prevent him from fleeing abroad. Combating cyber crime was also a key focus of the operation, and police acted on 309 complaints received on the cyber helpline 1930 during the past 24 hours, involving attempted fraud of approximately ₹8,836,208. The cyber team acted swiftly, freezing ₹59,14,533 before it could reach the fraudsters' accounts.
