News Topical, Digital Desk : Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala, who reached flood-affected area of Shahabad, Katwa, launched a scathing attack on the government. He said that 17 towns are submerged in water, more than 35 people died due to floods and snake bites, thousands of houses and lakhs of acres of crops were destroyed, but the government is missing. Whether it is Haryana or Punjab, there is no bird called government in both the places.

He said that the BJP government in Haryana and Bhagwant Mann 's government in Punjab have left the flood victims at the mercy of God. It is the spirit of the people of Haryana and Punjab that they are standing up and helping themselves.

'Haryana government is missing'

Surjewala taunted, “Why did the Chief Minister come to Shahabad, was it just to get photographed? Was a meeting of the Flood Control Board ever called, was the drain and embankment repaired, were pump sets and JCBs kept ready? Nothing. He said that wounds will not heal just by opening the portal and conducting a survey by helicopter. “It is not enough to say that Amit Shah will take care. When the Chief Minister himself is not doing anything, what will Amit Shah do? The government of Haryana is missing.”

,Every affected house will get compensation of 50 thousand rupees.

Surjewala suggested a big solution and said that Dadupur-Nalvi project and Bibipur lake will have to be constructed, only then permanent control over floods is possible. He also advocated building big reservoirs in Mahendragarh, Rewari and Gurgaon which are facing water shortage. The Congress leader announced that on formation of the government, electricity and water bills of farmers, poor, SC-BC families will be waived, bank loan recovery will stop and every affected household will get compensation of Rs 50,000.

'The public is fighting on its own'

He took a dig at both the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party governments, “The governments of Haryana and Punjab have left the people at the mercy of God. Neither the NDRF came, nor any financial help. The public is fighting on its own, there is no bird called government left in both the states. The Delhi government also did not send any relief. Neither did it send money, nor did it send the army and nor did it send any compensation.''
