News Topical, Digital Desk : Security has been tightened in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, ahead of the expected verdict on December 10th in the Banbhulpura railway land encroachment case. Nainital police on Monday organized a large-scale flag march to convey the message of maintaining peace and law and order. The police administration has clarified that any disorder or attempt to break the law after the verdict will not be tolerated.
Under the direction of Nainital SSP Dr. Manjunath TC, area domination operations have been intensified throughout the region. He has instructed officials to ensure all necessary security arrangements are in place in view of the potential situation following the court's decision. The SSP stated that strict legal action will be taken against those who attempt to obstruct government action, gather crowds, or disrupt the atmosphere.
Police took out a flag march
On Monday, SP City Manoj Kumar Katyal briefed the police on duty and instructed them to maintain utmost vigilance. Following this, police teams conducted flag marches throughout sensitive areas, including the railway station, Dholak Basti, Gafur Basti, Indranagar, Mujahid Chowk, Shani Bazaar Road, the Taj Masjid area, Gandhinagar, and Chorgalia Road. The march concluded at the Banbhulpura police station.
keeping an eye on suspicious persons
To maintain law and order, the police have deployed a large force, including three ASPs, four COs, 12 inspectors, 45 sub-inspectors, 400 constables, three PAC companies, four drones, four fire units, and a tear gas unit. Preventive action is being taken against suspicious individuals, and entry into sensitive areas by those without local identification has been restricted.
There was joint presence of police and administrative officials during the flag march.
SSP Nainital has appealed to the public to respect the Supreme Court's decision, maintain peace, and refrain from rumors. Monitoring of social media has also been increased to ensure prompt action against any misinformation.
