Trump has said that Canada's digital service tax will affect companies like Google, Amazon and Meta. In the same interview, Trump also revealed that he has found a buyer for TikTok, which is a group of "many wealthy people". He said that he will reveal the name of this group in about two weeks.

Trump's warning to Canada

Earlier on Friday, Trump had described Canada's digital service tax as a "clear and open attack on America" on his social media platform Truth. He announced that all trade talks with Canada were being stopped immediately due to this tax. He also warned that new tariffs on Canadian goods would be announced in the next seven days.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has not yet made any statement on this issue. However, his government has defended the implementation of the digital service tax.
