News Topical, Digital Desk : Good news arrived for farmers in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday (September 18, 2025). The state government announced the dates for the procurement of coarse grains. The Uttar Pradesh government announced on Thursday that this year's procurement of coarse grains will begin on October 1st and continue until December 31st.

According to an official statement, registration and renewal of farmers for the procurement of coarse grains, including maize, millet, and sorghum, is ongoing. It added that farmers can contact a toll-free number or contact the District Food Marketing Officer, Regional Marketing Officer, or Marketing Inspector with any concerns.

The amount of the crop will come into the bank account

The statement said that payments to farmers will be made directly into their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. To eliminate middlemen and ensure transparency, purchases of coarse grains at procurement centers will be made only after biometric verification of farmers through "e-POP" (electronic point of purchase) devices, as before.

The government increased the MSP

It said, "The minimum support price (MSP) has also been increased this time. The MSP has been fixed at Rs 2,400 per quintal for maize, Rs 2,775 per quintal for millet, Rs 3,699 per quintal for sorghum (hybrid), and Rs 3,749 per quintal for sorghum (Malwandi)."

Maize will be purchased here

Maize will be procured in the districts of Badaun, Bulandshahr, Hardoi, Unnao, Mainpuri, Agra, Firozabad, Aligarh, Etah, Kasganj, Hathras, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Kannauj, Auraiya, Etawah, Bahraich, Gonda, Ballia, Jaunpur, Farrukhabad, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Deoria and Lalitpur.

Millet will be purchased here

According to the statement, the purchase of millet will be done in the districts of Badaun, Bulandshahr, Agra, Firozabad, Mathura, Mainpuri, Aligarh, Kasganj, Hathras, Etah, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Rampur, Amroha, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Farrukhabad, Auraiya, Kannauj, Etawah, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Chitrakoot, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Mirzapur, Ballia, Hardoi and Unnao.

It said that similarly, jowar will be procured in Banda, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Fatehpur, Unnao, Hardoi, Mirzapur and Jalaun districts.
