News Topical, Digital Desk : The number of coaches on the superfast Sampoorna Kranti Express (12394/12393) running between Delhi and Patna may be increased. Due to extreme overcrowding, the issue has been raised in the Rajya Sabha. BJP MP Dharmshila Gupta has made the demand to consider increasing the number of unreserved coaches on this train.

MP Dharmshila Gupta raised the issue

BJP's Dharmshila Gupta raised this issue during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha. She said that the Sampoorna Kranti Express (12394/12393) running between Delhi and Patna is extremely crowded, causing significant inconvenience to commuters. She said that this train is not just a means of transportation for millions of students, laborers, working citizens, ordinary citizens, and businessmen in Bihar, but also their lifeline.

The condition of unreserved coaches is very pathetic.

"But the condition of their unreserved coaches is deplorable, unsafe, and chaotic," he said. Gupta added that the number of seats available in general coaches is also very limited, while the number of passengers is many times higher. "The result is extreme crowding and chaos, from the station to the train interior. The elderly, women, children, and the disabled face particular difficulties. Due to the crowds, boarding or alighting from the train is like risking one's life."

He demanded that additional unreserved coaches be added to the Sampoorna Kranti Express and that special trains and additional services be operated to accommodate the high number of passengers. He said that effective management should also be put in place to control the crowd and ensure passenger safety.
