News Topical, Digital Desk : The administration in Ghaziabad , Uttar Pradesh, has taken a tough stance against the black marketing and illegal refilling of gas cylinders. In a major operation in the Maliwada area, the Food and Civil Supplies Department has uncovered a major network of gas cylinder black marketing. The department conducted a well-planned raid to crack down on this illegal racket operating in this densely populated residential area. This swift action has created panic in the area and created an atmosphere of panic among the black marketers.
Major action taken on the basis of secret information
According to reports, the Food and Civil Supplies Department had been receiving anonymous complaints for some time about large-scale illegal hoarding and black marketing of gas cylinders in the Maliwada area. Taking these reports seriously, a special team of departmental officials, led by District Supply Officer (DSO) Amit Tiwari, was formed. Maintaining complete secrecy, the team surrounded a suspicious house and conducted a surprise raid.
A 'pile of gunpowder' was kept in a residential area
During the raid, the team was shocked to discover a large cache of gas cylinders inside the house. Since this was a residential area, a major and fatal accident could have occurred at any time. A total of 18 gas cylinders were seized from the scene. The recovered cylinders included eight 19-kilogram commercial cylinders, nine 14.2-kilogram domestic cylinders, and one 5-kilogram commercial cylinder.
Commercial use of domestic gas and profiteering
Department officials say the accused illegally hoarded subsidized domestic gas cylinders and then sold them on the black market at exorbitant prices to hotels, restaurants, and other commercial establishments. This entire scheme, driven solely by the lure of huge profits, is not only illegal but also extremely dangerous.
FIR against the accused, the campaign will continue further
District Supply Officer Amit Tiwari sternly stated that black marketing of gas cylinders will not be tolerated at any cost. The department has seized all 18 cylinders from the spot and is identifying those involved in this illegal trade and filing cases against them under the Essential Commodities Act. Officials have warned that this intensive campaign to stop black marketing in the district will continue.
