With the help of Interpol, Gaurav, a close associate of mastermind Shubham Jaiswal, has been identified. He is hiding in Dubai.

Preparations are underway to contact the police for his arrest. Earlier, on April 9th, a Red Corner Notice was issued by Interpol against the absconding accused, including Shubham. So far, more than 23 accused have been arrested in this case.

The gang leader, Shubham Jaiswal, a resident of the Adampur area of ​​Varanasi, fled to Dubai after the incident. A request was made to Interpol to issue a Red Corner Notice for his arrest, which was issued on April 9, 2026.

Since then, the international search for Shubham and his close associates has intensified. Based on input received through Interpol, the accused's locations and network were investigated, and Shubham's associate, Gaurav Jaiswal, was found active in Dubai. Efforts are now underway to arrest him through the embassy.

After the arrest, the extradition process will begin. It is reported that Gaurav is related to the gang leader Shubham and possesses all information regarding Shubham's transactions.

Not only this, he was responsible for everything from storing the syrup to where and how much of it should be shipped. Gaurav's arrest will provide the STF with crucial information about the gang.

Property worth Rs 28.50 crore has been attached.

Several accused, including Shubham's father, Bhola Jaiswal, have been arrested. Shubham's property worth approximately ₹28.50 crore has also been confiscated. STF officials say the action will continue until the absconding accused are arrested.

On November 19, 2025, a large quantity of codeine-containing cough syrup was seized in the Rohaniya police station area of ​​Varanasi. A case was registered under the NDPS Act. The investigation uncovered a large network of syrup smuggling gangs, spanning several states and Bangladesh. The STF filed a charge sheet in court on February 12, 2026.
