News Topical, Digital Desk : The shortage of diesel and petrol in the district is now testing people's patience. The situation became even more tense on Tuesday when consumers' anger over fuel distribution at a petrol pump in the city became apparent.

Long queues had formed at the pump located at Bansi More in the city since early morning. As soon as limited quantities of oil began to be available, people became increasingly impatient and anxious, which quickly escalated into a dispute.

Fuel had been unavailable at two of the city's pumps for the past five days. Supply at the third pump was also disrupted for two days. When distribution finally resumed on Tuesday, a scramble for the next line of customers, along with those already in line, sparked a scramble for the next line.

Some people insisted on filling their vehicle tanks completely, while others insisted on receiving fuel in additional containers. When the pump staff refused, citing regulations, the situation became heated. People who had been waiting for hours in the morning humidity and sunshine gradually became angry.

Within moments, some consumers lifted the dividers at the pump and placed them in the middle of the road, blocking the route. This brought traffic on the Naugarh-Bansi road to a standstill. Long queues of vehicles formed on both sides, causing significant inconvenience to pedestrians. The situation remained chaotic for about half an hour.

Upon receiving the information, Sadar police arrived at the scene and, after convincing the people, cleared the road. Traffic gradually returned to normal. However, discontent among the people remained evident during this time.

Of the 122 petrol pumps in the district, about 60 are experiencing fuel shortages. Where some oil is available, long queues have formed since morning, with people having to wait hours for their turn. Those coming from rural areas were particularly distressed.

Currently, despite the administration's vigilant efforts, the fuel crisis continues to cause problems for the public. People are being advised to maintain patience while they wait for supplies to return to normal.

District Supply Officer Devendra Kumar Singh said that talks have been held with all three major oil companies. Officials have assured that supplies will be restored soon and vehicles carrying fuel are being sent. He expressed hope that the situation may improve by evening.
