News Topical, Digital Desk : A dumper collided with a tractor trolley near the Asadpur culvert on the Sambhal-Moradabad highway in the Mainather police station area at 6 am on Friday.
Ajit (10), Srishti, Shanti Devi (55), and Suman (30) were killed in the accident, while 14 others were injured. The men and women in the tractor trolley were returning home after a feast at the time of the accident. Police have admitted the injured to the district hospital.
According to the police, Usha, wife of Naresh, a resident of Bhatola village in the Kailadevi police station area of Sambhal, is getting married in five days. Usha, along with the women of her family, had come to her maternal home in Gurer village in Mainather on Thursday night to attend the wedding of her brothers Tej Prakash and Satish.
On Thursday, Tej Prakash and Satish had stopped everyone at their house. They were returning home around 6 a.m. on Friday. The tractor trolley had just reached the Asadpur culvert on Sambhal Road. At that very moment, a dumper truck traveling from Moradabad to Sambhal struck the tractor trolley from behind.
17 people were injured in the accident
Seventeen people were injured in the accident. The dumper driver fled the scene after the accident. Police and passersby rushed the injured to the district hospital.
While Ajit, Shanti, Srishti, and Suman were declared dead by doctors, 14 injured were admitted and treatment has begun. Rural Superintendent of Police Kunwar Akash Singh said the injured have been admitted to the hospital.
