US citizens are shocked by Trump's actions - Michael Rubin

He said, "Many of us are still perplexed by how Donald Trump has damaged US-India relations. Many question what motivates Donald Trump. Perhaps it was flattery from the Pakistanis. More likely, it was a bribe paid to Donald Trump by the Pakistanis or their supporters in Turkey and Qatar—a devastating bribe that will put the United States at a strategic disadvantage for decades to come."

US being hypocritical by giving lecture to India on Russian oil: Rubin

Rubin said the US was being hypocritical by lecturing India for buying Russian oil while Washington itself was involved in trade with Moscow and justified New Delhi's position of prioritizing its own needs.

"Americans don't understand that Indians elected Prime Minister Modi to represent Indian interests. India is the most populous country. It's soon going to be the world's third-largest economy and needs energy. The US is being hypocritical because we buy from Russia. We buy goods and materials for which we have no alternative markets," Rubin told ANI. "So, when we lecture India, we're being hypocritical."

He said that instead of "lecturing," the US should provide fuel to India at a cheaper price. He added, "If we don't have an answer, our best course of action is to remain silent because India has to take care of its own security first."
