The risk will increase if the heat continues – IMD
The Meteorological Department said that the working class—such as industrial workers, mining workers, and daily wage laborers—as well as farmers and those who work in the sun for long periods of time are particularly at risk of dehydration and heatstroke. The impact on livestock and standing agricultural or horticultural crops is generally expected to be minor, although persistent heat may increase the risk.
The Meteorological Department has advised that people should avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, especially during the afternoon, and should wear light-colored, loose-fitting cotton clothing. When outdoors, keep your head covered with a cloth, hat, or umbrella. It is important to drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.
Continue light irrigation in the evening – IMD
Farmers should continue to irrigate standing crops lightly in the evening to maintain moisture, while adjusting farming, mining, and other open-air operations to the weather. Animals should be protected from afternoon grazing, shaded, and provided with adequate water.
