News Topical, Digital Desk : Recognizing the growing need and demand for forensic science knowledge, the Deendayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University administration has decided to include it in its academic curriculum. The university is preparing to introduce forensic science as a subject at the B.Sc. level, as well as offer a master's degree.

Although this course will not be implemented in the current semester, the university administration has set a goal to introduce it by 2027. Preliminary planning has already begun.

The university has entrusted the Dean of the Faculty of Science with the responsibility of planning this matter. He will, with the help of various science departments, develop a curriculum outline, resources, and necessary infrastructure, and submit a proposal to the university administration. Forensic science plays a vital role in crime investigations, cybercrime, DNA analysis, and judicial processes.

As a result, the demand for trained specialists in this field is constantly increasing. Keeping this need in mind, the university has taken this step to provide students with employment-oriented and modern education.

The Department of Biotechnology will lead
the university administration. The Department of Biotechnology has already assigned the leadership of the curriculum to the Department of Biotechnology. Under the department's leadership, labs, equipment, and expert faculty will be arranged to ensure quality education for students. Once the curriculum is developed, a separate institute will be established for this purpose.

The university administration believes that the introduction of this course will not only provide new opportunities for regional students but will also develop a strong center for forensic education in Purvanchal. This will help develop trained human resources for the police, courts, and investigative agencies.
