- The screen should always be at eye level. This reduces strain on both the neck and eyes.
- Adjust your screen brightness to the room's brightness. Too much or too little light can strain your eyes. Use an anti-glare screen protector to prevent glare.
- Using blue light filters or 'night mode' available on smartphones and computers will also help reduce exposure to harmful blue light.
Outdoor time and regular checkups
Spending time outdoors helps reduce the risk of myopia. Natural light supports healthy eye development. Therefore, encourage children to play outside for at least one hour daily, regardless of the weather.
Healthy diet for eyes
To prevent dry eyes, maintain hydration and encourage children to drink plenty of water. Also, offer coconut water and juice. Include foods rich in vitamins A, C, and omega-3 fatty acids in your diet.
Additionally, parents should schedule regular eye checkups for their children. If your child shows signs of eye discomfort, headaches, or vision problems, consult a doctor immediately. Early awareness and good habits are crucial to protecting children's eyesight in the digital age.
