New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan is called the romantic king of Bollywood. The thing he is most known for is his signature pose. He has given his signature pose in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Kal Ho Na Ho, Happy New Year and Swades. Not only this, when he meets fans from his bungalow Mannat, he greets them with this same pose.
But do you know how this signature pose of Shah Rukh Khan was created? Recently, the Pathan actor, who was honored at the Locarno Film Festival, has told the story behind this iconic pose. He told that before recreating this iconic pose, he was ashamed of himself and he used to practice all night.
Shah Rukh was upset for not doing dips
Actually, in the 90s, dip dance was definitely included in Hindi films, but Shah Rukh Khan did not know it. In such a situation, a different pose was recreated for him. Shah Rukh Khan said at the film festival, "I could not do dips, due to which I was very ashamed of myself. I used to practice in my room all night. The next morning I remember I used to say to choreographer Saroj Khan, 'Am I ready?' She would say, 'Yes, but you cannot do dips, you stand and spread your arms.'
This is how the signature pose was created
Shah Rukh Khan further said, "I did dips for her ( Saroj Khan ) and she said, 'No no, don't do that. It doesn't look good on you.' So she didn't let me do the dips and I had to spread my arms. Then I went to another set and one step was a little difficult to do. I asked Farah, let's cut it out and just spread my arms and I kept repeating it. After constant practice, I made it scientific." Shah Rukh further said, "I was just fooling you all. There is nothing in it. It's just spreading the arms."
