New Delhi:  Kangana Ranaut's upcoming film Emergency, based on the 1975 Emergency, has been creating a buzz for a long time. On one hand, Kangana was ready to release her film, on the other hand, the censor board did not give the green signal to the film. Due to this, the movie got postponed. 

Kangana Ranaut starrer political drama Emergency was scheduled to release in theatres on November 24 last year. However, due to some reason, the film got postponed for 7 months and the new release date was fixed as June 14. But due to Kangana's election tour, the movie could not release even on June 14. As soon as the actress became an MP from Mandi, a few days later, she fixed the new release date of the film as September 6. But now this too has been postponed.

Kangana Ranaut is saddened by the postponement of emergency

The trailer of Emergency was released on 14 August and a controversy started regarding the film. The Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) did not give a certificate to Kangana Ranaut's film and the movie was postponed. On September 6, Kangana Ranaut shared an emotional post on her X handle. She wrote, "With a heavy heart, I announce that my directorial venture Emergency has been postponed. We are still waiting for certification from the Censor Board, the new release date will be announced soon, thank you for your understanding and patience."

Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency , based on the life of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, also mentions her assassination by a Sikh bodyguard. In such a situation, the Sikh community has filed a case against the film, after which the Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered the CBFC to take a decision on this matter by September 18. In such a situation, the makers of Emergency approached the Bombay High Court against postponing the release date of the film. However, the matter did not work out there either. The Bombay High Court has clearly said that it cannot contradict the order of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
