During the encounter, the animal smugglers who were running away after firing at the police team were injured by police bullets. The police arrested the three injured animal smugglers. 26 bovine animals cruelly loaded in a container have been recovered from the animal smugglers.
3 illegal country-made pistols, 6 live and 6 fired cartridges have been recovered from the cattle smugglers. The cattle smugglers caught by the police are residents of Agra and Rampur. SWAT, surveillance team along with police from half a dozen police stations were involved in the encounter. SP Santosh Mishra has said that 3 vicious cattle smugglers have been injured in the encounter between the cattle smugglers and the police.
A look at the whole matter
In fact, Kushinagar's surveillance cell and SWAT team had received information from an informer that cattle smugglers are planning to take bovine animals to Bihar in a truck. The police became active on the information and immediately made a plan and formed a joint team of SWAT along with the police of Pateharwa, Kasya, Ramkola, Khadda, Taryasujan, Tamkuhiraj police station.
Police teams started checking by barricading near Balua Shamsher Shahi village on Patheriya-Samaur road of Patherwa police station. During the checking, a container vehicle was seen coming. When the police team tried to stop the driver, the people riding the vehicle targeted the police team and fired with the intention of killing them.
Police retaliated by firing
After this, the police team also fired back. After this, they parked the container on the road and started running towards the sugarcane field. The cow smugglers also started firing at the police team from behind the sugarcane. During the police combing operation, all the three cow smugglers were shot in the leg due to which all three were injured.
The injured cattle smugglers were arrested by the police. The cattle smugglers caught by the police are Jabbar son of Sharif Lohar Agra, Faizan son of Babu Qureshi and Naeem son of Rais Ahmed are residents of Rampur district. Many prohibited items including 26 bovine animals cruelly loaded in a container, 03 illegal pistols of 315 bore, 6 live and 6 fired cartridges have been recovered from the possession of the cattle smugglers.
The injured accused were admitted to the hospital
The arrested cattle smugglers have been sent to the hospital for treatment under police custody. During police interrogation, the accused told that they have an organized gang which cruelly loads bovine animals from various districts of UP on vehicles and takes them to Bengal via Bihar for slaughter where they sell them at high prices.
Superintendent of Police Santosh Mishra has said that 3 cattle smugglers have been shot in an encounter between cattle smugglers and police. All three have been arrested in injured condition. Many prohibited items including 26 bovine animals, 3 illegal pistols of 315 bore, 6 live and 6 fired cartridges have been recovered from them.
