News Topical, Digital Desk : An unidentified drone sighting caused panic at Berlin's Brandenburg Airport on Friday night. An airport spokesperson said all flights were halted from 8:08 pm to 9:58 pm due to the drone.

During this time, many flights were diverted to other cities in Germany. The airport's night flight ban was also temporarily lifted to minimize the impact on flight operations.

Where have drones been seen ?

An airport spokesperson said, " We believe the danger has been averted for now. " Passengers faced significant inconvenience after the incident, but flights were halted for security reasons. There have been several drone sightings in Germany this year, particularly at airports, military bases, and key industrial areas.

Denmark, Norway, and Poland have also suspended flights in recent weeks following unidentified drone sightings. Romania and Estonia have also suspected Russia of being behind these incidents. Germany, a key NATO member state supporting Ukraine, has also hinted that Russia may be behind the incidents.

Suggestion by the German Home Minister

In early October, the city of Munich also had to close its airport twice after drone attacks. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said the country needed to develop a new strategy to deal with this new hybrid challenge. He suggested strengthening technology to detect, monitor, and, if necessary, shoot down drones.
