In a statement reported by Variety, the broadcaster said it was deeply saddened by the loss of its friend and longtime production partner at the Israel Broadcasting Corporation. The broadcaster also confirmed that the fourth season of Tehran is currently being shot in Greece, with Eden personally visiting the production.

Eden was best known for her work on all episodes of Tehran, the popular series based on an Israeli Mossad agent of Iranian Jewish descent. The show stars Niv Sultan, Glenn Close, and Hugh Laurie. Her other work includes Girl, Woman, The Prosecution, and Magpie. She had been in Greece since February 4, working on the latest season of the spy thriller.

Tehran tells the story of an Iranian-born operative raised in Israel who is recruited to infiltrate and sabotage the country's growing nuclear program. The series, in which she played the lead role in the second season, depicted Israel's renowned intelligence service so realistically that even the FBI director supported it. The Iranian government has repeatedly condemned the show as Zionist propaganda.

Dana Eden was part of the Tehran-based production team that won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series (2021). According to reports, she played a key role behind the scenes in shaping the series' international success and actively participated in filming until her death.
