News Topical, Digital Desk : On Tuesday, students of Kasturba Gandhi Residential School, Shukul Bazaar, in Amethi district, Uttar Pradesh, staged a massive protest, accusing two teachers of serious harassment. Students and their families blocked the road in front of the police station, demanding immediate filing of a report against the accused teachers. Upon receiving information about the incident, officials arrived at the scene and pacified the students and their families.

The students allege that the teacher not only beats them but also uses casteist abuse. The students and their families have lost their patience today due to the lack of action after their complaints.

What is the whole matter?

On Tuesday afternoon, more than fifty female students from the school, accompanied by their families, arrived at the police station and began shouting slogans, accusing the teachers of mental and caste-based harassment. A complaint filed by a family member, Rahul Bauddh, stated that the school teacher, Neetu Srivastava, makes caste-related remarks to the girls and threatens to have them expelled. The families allege that the girls have been subjected to prolonged harassment, and complaints have been made to the management, but no appropriate action has been taken.

The students stated that the learning environment at the school has deteriorated. Many students are frightened and under mental stress. Allegations are that the teachers not only yell at the girls but also incite them to abuse and assault through their classmates. Furthermore, the teachers even have their own daughters beat the students. The students say they live in a constant state of fear at school and are harassed if they express their views.

A dispute arose between two teachers.

According to the girls, tensions have been brewing between two teachers at the school for some time. During a recent investigation, the students informed authorities of the true situation. They allege that the teachers have been acting vindictively against them ever since. They also say they are bearing the brunt of the internal management dispute.

Officials assured action

Upon receiving information about the protest, Block Education Officer Shailendra Shukla, Police Station Head Vivek Verma, and Vikramaditya Tiwari arrived at the scene and attempted to pacify the students. Despite the officers' efforts, the students and their families remained adamant on their demand to file a case against the accused teachers. The road blockage disrupted traffic for nearly an hour. Later, the police managed to clear the blockage and the situation returned to normal.

Both teachers were removed.

District Basic Education Officer Sanjay Kumar Tiwari stated that two teachers, Archana Bauddh and Neetu Srivastava, were involved in a dispute. In order to avoid any further problems at the school, both teachers were removed with the District Magistrate's approval.

These teachers don't want to leave, so they are protesting against each other with the children of their respective parties, which is completely wrong. One of the teachers has been transferred to Tiloi, while the other has been transferred to Bahadurpur. If these teachers do not join their transfer locations, disciplinary action will be taken against them.

The BSA also said that in residential institutions like Kasturba Vidyalaya, the safety and mental health of girls is paramount, hence any kind of negligence will not be tolerated.

The incident has become a topic of discussion in the area. People say that if the girls are making such allegations, it must be thoroughly investigated. The family members have warned that if action is not taken against the accused teachers soon, they will launch a major protest.

Police initiated action

At present, the police have initiated the legal process by taking a written complaint, while officials have assured the students that their concerns will be heard and that the culprits will not be spared. The situation will become clear only after an investigation, but the girls' allegations have raised many questions about the functioning of the school administration and the education department.
