News Topical, Digital Desk : The Tribal Affairs Department in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, was experiencing a growing pressure from complaints received on 181. The lack of timely resolution of complaints had raised questions about departmental functioning. In response to this situation, the Assistant Commissioner took a firm and decisive step, withholding the last month's salary payments to all department employees, including his own.

He has clearly stated that until the pending complaints under Section 181 are properly and satisfactorily resolved, salaries will not be released to any employee. Currently, the employees' complaints are being resolved after the salary withholding.

There was an uproar over this decision

This decision caused a stir within the department, but its impact was immediate. Previously, complaints on 181 remained pending without resolution, but now employees are rapidly working to resolve all complaints. Teams of employees have been instructed to provide verified solutions to each complaint, both in the field and at the document level.

While this move is bringing positive changes to the department, it is also causing frustration among the workforce. The lack of salaries has deepened the financial crisis for many employees. Many employees acknowledged that resolving grievances is essential, but the collective pay freeze is causing them personal problems.

What did the Assistant Commissioner say?

On the other hand, the Assistant Commissioner clearly stated that pending complaints on 181 tarnish the department's image and that the repeated public complaints indicate negligence at the field and office levels. Had complaints been taken seriously in the past, this situation would not have arisen.

This entire process has highlighted another major issue. Officials say that many complaints filed on 181 are fake or baseless, intended only to mislead the administration. As soon as one complaint is resolved, some consumers file four new complaints, further burdening the department.

Now, at the departmental level, there is a demand that the government should make new rules for the 181 complaint system, so that false or misused complaints can be stopped and genuine cases can be resolved quickly.
