Storm Harry caused severe flooding along the Mediterranean coast, destroying roads and causing extensive damage to coastal areas. Record-breaking rainfall also occurred in Italy, Malta, Spain, and France. According to the Italian news agency ANSA, the storm caused massive devastation in a short period of time. According to Italy's Civil Protection Department, some areas received nearly two feet (57 centimeters) of rain between January 18 and January 21. Waves reached as high as 32 feet (9.7 meters) in some parts of Italy's coastline, causing flooding.

Corsica received more than 200 millimeters of rain in a single day, causing rivers to overflow and flooding many areas of the island. Meanwhile, the Spanish region of Catalonia was hit hard by rain and waves.

A storm in the Catalonia region inundated a seaside restaurant with water, a video of which is going viral on social media. Numerous businesses, including restaurants and hotels, were also damaged by the storm.
