News Topical, Digital Desk : A criminal wanted for theft and several other crimes was injured in a shootout with the police and was admitted to the hospital.
Late on Tuesday night, near the Gangoh bus stand of the city, Teetran Kotwali in-charge Vikas Charan along with his team was checking on the road leading to Jhinjhana town of Shamli district.
Acting on a tip-off, police stopped a man standing in a garden and he began running. When police chased him, he opened fire. In retaliation, a police bullet struck him in the leg, injuring him. The suspect is Fatir, son of Hamid, a resident of Mohalla Katra in Gangoh. He was admitted to Gangoh Hospital for treatment.
A pistol, 50,000 rupees, and cartridges were recovered from him. Following the incident, Gangoh Police Circle Officer Ashok Sisodiya also arrived. He stated that the arrested criminal was wanted in more than half a dozen incidents, including the theft of 60,000 rupees from a shop at the old bus stand in Teetro.
